Chris Jones
Independent Non-Executive Chairman

Biography

After graduating from Cambridge University, Chris spent 24 years in the advertising industry, ultimately becoming the Global Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of J Walter Thompson Co based in New York, part of WPP Group plc. Since returning to the UK, Chris has held board positions in many companies in Europe and the US in sectors including healthcare, technology and financial services. He also has extensive not-for-profit interests, especially in healthcare and education. Chris is a Non-Executive Director of Becton, Dickinson and Co and is a trustee of the Pew Charitable Trust. Chris is the Non-Executive Chairman and is also a member of the Nomination Committee.

Mark Scott
Chief Executive Officer

Biography

From 1994 to 1998 Mark Scott was a senior executive at WPP Group plc, latterly being appointed Operations Director for the Group with responsibility for the Group’s European and Asian acquisition programme. Post WPP he became Executive Vice President of Lighthouse Global Network LLC where he helped acquire and consolidate more than 15 marketing services companies. From 2000 to 2002 he was appointed a senior executive of Lake Capital Management, a private equity firm, where he was responsible for a range of investments in marketing service firms. He has been a member of the boards of a number of public companies in the sector including Watermark Group plc, Chime Communications Group plc, Chemistry Communications Group plc and Fitch plc. He obtained his MBA from Harvard Business School and a first class honours degree in English Literature from Oxford University. Mark is Group Chief Executive Officer and is also a member of the Nomination Committee.

Mark Bentley
Group Finance Director

Biography

Mark joined the Group as Group Finance Director in May 2005. Mark previously worked for Citigate Dewe Rogerson, which he joined in 2000 as Financial Controller and spent the next five years in various senior finance roles within Incepta Group plc, including Finance Director of Citigate Dewe Rogerson from February 2001. Whilst maintaining the Finance Director role, he took on wider operational responsibilities when he was appointed Chief Operating Officer in November 2003. Mark qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in 1996.

Graduate, Chartered Accountant. Nearly 20 years in professional service businesses. Relevant strengths in M&A, Corporate Finance, IFRS reporting.

Stephen Highley
Group Chief Operating Officer

Biography

Stephen started his career in the Retail and FMCG sector before moving into healthcare. His extensive healthcare career includes working for Baxter Healthcare and a London-based consultancy company where he was Director of the Healthcare Division. In 1994 Stephen was a founding Director of MSI and subsequently spent 17 years as Managing Director. Since early 2011 Stephen has performed in a number of wider Cello Health roles, specifically Chairman of Cello Health division and Group Chief Operating Officer, responsibilities he currently retains. As Chairman of Cello Health division, Stephen’s key role is to harness the considerable talent within the Cello Health division’s capabilities to build on the success to date in the healthcare sector.

Julia Ralston
Chief Executive Officer, Cello Health Inc.

Biography

Julia joined Cello in 2011 following an extensive career in successfully growing and managing healthcare communications companies. She has played a key role in building Cello Health’s US business over the past seven years. Julia is responsible for governance, strategic growth, and facilitating collaboration across the Cello Health consulting, insight, and communication capabilities in the US region.

Trained Pharmacist, 25 years running global service businesses. Relevant strengths in business growth, the US pharmaceuticals market, and strategic direction and governance.

Clifford Tompsett
Senior Independent Non-Executive Director

Biography

Clifford Tompsett brings over 38 years of experience as a finance professional advising companies execute significant transactions and raise capital in the UK, US and Hong Kong capital markets. He spent the whole of his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, including the last 26 years as a partner. He was formerly head of PwC’s UK and European Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences practice and head of the Global IPO Centre based in London. He has worked with many of the leading global pharmaceutical companies, advising on many of the large deals in the industry, as well as many mid to small cap life science companies. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Oxford University. He is also a Non-Executive Director at Reed Global. Clifford chairs the Audit and Risk Committee and the Nomination Committee and is the Senior Non-Executive Director.

Chartered Accountant, former senior partner at PwC. Relevant strengths are considerable healthcare experience, and experience of large transactions and listed corporate governance requirements.

Jo LeCouilliard
Independent Non-Executive Director

Biography

Jo LeCouilliard brings 25 years’ healthcare management experience gained in Europe, the US and Asia. Much of her career has been in pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline where, amongst other roles, she headed the US vaccines business and Asia Pacific Pharmaceuticals business and led a program to modernise the commercial model. She was previously COO at the BMI group of private hospitals in the UK. She was Non-Executive Director at Frimley Park NHS Foundation Trust and at the Duke NUS Medical School in Singapore. She is currently a Non-Executive Director at Circassia PLC, Alliance Pharma PLC and Recordati SpA She is a graduate of Cambridge University and a Chartered Accountant. Jo is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

25 years management experience in a large pharmaceutical business, experienced PLC non-executive. Relevant strengths include multi-national experience, healthcare knowledge and financial appraisal and control.

Michele Luzi
Independent Non-Executive Director

Biography

Michele has been an Advisory Partner with Bain & Company since 1990. Over his career he has led the TMT EMEA practice of Bain in addition to having been a member of the Bain Global Board of Directors. Michele has led a number of very significant company transformations and advised on some of the largest M&A transactions for FTSE 100 companies. Michele chairs the Remuneration Committee.

Relevant skills and experience

Nearly 30 years in professional services, both in pharma and in other sectors. Relevant strengths include consulting, and M&A integration.
